Toyota C-HR dicontinued in Canada
February 02 2023,
Toyota has recently confirmed that the C-HR will not continue in the North American and Canadian markets after 2022. They also indicated that the vehicle will only be available in the European market. This funky SUV was one that won hearts since 2018.
Interesting Vehicle Coming to an End
This first-generation SUV from Toyota was a fresh addition to the subcompact SUV market. Now, North Americans and Canadians will have to suffice with only the Corolla Cross from Toyota in this class. While there are advantages of the Cross over the C-HR (Cross offers all-wheel drive while the C-HR offered only front-wheel drive), the Cross looked bland. Customers can also opt for the RAV4; however, that comes with a hefty price tag.
The C-HR had it all - from interesting bodywork to character lines and integrated spoiler with the two-tone roof. However, seeing its life cycle end has indeed dampened the mood among customers that were looking forward to the next generation. The second-generation electric 2024 C-HR has already been seen testing on European roads. The next model will be bolder and more powerful.
Why Is It Discontinued?
Toyota indicated that the C-HR will be discontinued because of the release of the new SUVs - RAV 4 and Corolla Cross. Toyota felt that discontinuing the C-HR made more sense, and no replacement is expected for this model in North America and Canada.
